Ranveer Singh Pulls Out Of This Big Hollywood Project

Ranveer Singh was all set to dub for the Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool sequel in Hindi but will not be able to do so now. Reason? He is busy with Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy which also stars Alia Bhatt.

A source close to the development told a leading daily, “Ranveer was extremely keen but he just couldn’t make time in his Gully Boy schedule as he is shooting at night every day.

Gully Boy is a coming-of-age film inspired by two real-life rappers from Mumbai’s chawls – Rapper Divine aka Vivian Fernandes and Rapper Naezy aka Naved Shaikh. Ranveer will play one of the rappers in the film.

Talking about Ranveer playing him in to the film, rapper Divine said, "He's a cool guy and already dresses like a rapper so he needs no tips in the fashion department from me. It is one thing to get audiences to wake up and listen to our kind of music, which is not about girls, gold, and drugs but about real life in Mumbai. But it is an even greater thing when mainstream actors like Ranveer chose to be a Gully Boy. He's now a part of our movement."

Talking about Deadpool 2, while promoting the Fox Star Studios production, Reynolds had informed a newspaper that the foul-mouthed anti-hero is his alter-ego. “I like to think I’m inherently likable on screen. So I had to push myself to up the unlikeable factor a few notches. It’s sometimes liberating to play a character that doesn’t give a damn,” he had asserted.

Well, all said and done, it would have been interesting to hear Ranveer as Reynolds’ voice in Deadpool sequel.
